July 2011 in Oklahoma was the hottest month in the U.S…. ever. Oh my! The summer of 2012 is nearly on par with last year. It’s SO hot, even my shadow is sweating. We hit at least 100 degrees for the fourth day in a row today. And there’s no relief in sight. It’s still June. The weather kept me up much of the night. I couldn’t believe how hard the wind was blowing. I don’t have a wind gauge, but I would guess it had to be up there close to 70 mph. I thought all the trees were coming down. Woke up this morning and saw that quite a few trees and large branches did fall in my neighborhood. My neighbor’s trampoline went flying… … and… Read More

It was a blast from the past as many former Channel 8 anchors got together for a reunion tonight. Many of you remember Bob Hower, Don Woods, and of course Chris Lincoln, who still works for 8. Back in the 70’s they were known as “The News Guys”, anchoring news, weather and sports. They were joined at the party by former anchor Diana Moon. The marketing slogans “8’s the Place” and “The… Read More

There’s another threat of severe weather moving into northeast Oklahoma tonight. After a hot, sunny day the clouds are moving in this evening. Even the wildlife are on the move. That’s a tarantula spotted just outside our station’s backdoor tonight. Maybe he senses something in the air, and is heading for cover. Then again, maybe Mrs. “T” kicked him out of the house. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming up on… Read More
