Former ORU President Richard Roberts Sentenced For DUI

Here’s an update to one of the most viewed stories on my blog. Former Oral Roberts University president Richard Roberts has learned his punishment following his DUI arrest earlier this year.

Roberts has been sentenced to 18 months probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor. By doing so, he avoids jail time. Roberts is the son of the late televangelist Oral Roberts, who founded ORU in the ’60s.

In January, Richard Roberts was arrested after he was stopped for speeding along a Tulsa highway. Oklahoma Highway Patrol says he was going 93 mph in a 65 mph zone. Police say his blood alcohol level was .11, which is over the legal limit of .08.
