Cow Milking and Roping: What Was I Thinking?
We kicked off something new this year. We call it our Anchor Challenge. On Thursday, Kristin challenged me to a cow milking competition. What?? Kristin loves animals, and is right at home around horses, pigs, goats, cows, etc. She’s a true cowgirl (she went to Oklahoma State). So I’m guessing she’s got me beat on this one. Here’s how it turned out:
Shocked? Me too. But that cow definitely didn’t like what I was doing to her.
So that was our first Anchor Challenge. On Friday it was my turn to pick. I e-mailed Kristin in the morning with my idea.
- Me: “Hey, about a roping competition?”
- Her: “Brilliant! But I do have some experience.”
- Me: “Yeah, sure.”
I must’ve not had my morning cup of cow milk yet. What was I thinking? I’ve never roped anything before. I can barely tie my shoelaces. I guess I was “utter”ly too confident from my cow milking victory. Check it out:
Kristin is good. She never missed. I’ll admit, I got lucky. But I don’t think I’m ready for calf-roping. I’ll stick to garbage cans.
